The accommodation package includes breakfast for 2 guests.
Twenty kilometers from the famous Avenue of the Baobabs and at the edge of the mangrove is located the village of Tsaravahiny de Mangily. The accommodation centre is located at the entrance of the village and is composed of 7 traditional units. There is also a restaurant where a local cuisine is served. The whole of these buildings are simple and built with local materials. Shared bathrooms.
Tsaravahiny Centre offers the opportunity to participate to the village’s activities (traditional crab fishing, baskets, and pirogues crafting). You can also visit the mangrove and the dunes around without forgetting the famous avenue of the baobabs, mythical place of Madagascar, especially at sunset. You will finally be able to immerse yourself in the Sakalava culture by visiting their Tombs.
The Centre was created in 1996 by a non-governmental organisation (Abm Belgian Association Belgium-Madagascar), which has also built the school and health centre in that poor village. Since 2012, the association had transferred the management of the accommodation to a young Malagasy couple who works closely with the village’s committee. The income of the accommodation and activities are shared with the committee.
